How to clean oven racks

You can clean the oven racks with a minimum of effort, using just a few things that you already have at home. The same trick can be used to clean the burned bottom of the pan or from the oven or grill.
You need an old towel, a kitchen sponge or toothbrush, powder or liquid detergent (laundry or dishes, depending on the type you have at home).

Once you have gathered all these things here is what you have to do: put the  towel  on the bathtub and add the grill on it (you must use it not to scratch the tub). Plug the tub and add hot water until it covers the racks. Hot water is really important because it’s helping remove the grease. While water flows add laundry detergent (about 50 grams), then let it stand for 5-6 hours. We recommend the powder detergent because it’s  abrasive. Also for better results you can leave it overnight.

Finally, most of the dirt from the grill is gone and you only need to use a toothbrush or sponge to remove the remaining stains. It will only take from 6-10 minutes to do that. For some added abrasion you can use laundry detergent. The results will be pretty excellent!
You should know that it’s better not to leave your oven racks in the oven during the self-clean cycle because it can strip the chrome off the rack and permanently damage it.  Besides, this method doesn’t involve effort and the oven racks almost clean themselves.
